With guests and in cinemas
The 70th IFFMH is in the starting blocks
Tonight we celebrate the opening of the 70th IFFMH with our Opening Night at the Cinemaxx in Mannheim. There you can expect the world premiere of the new IFFMH festival trailer by Till Nowak and our opening film ›You Resemble Me‹. Former CNN reporter Dina Amer's directorial debut was co-produced by independent cinema greats Spike Lee and Spike Jonze. Join us in a toast to ten days of progressive cinematic vision! And if you can't stand the wait, there's a very special extra waiting for you at Cinema Quadrat before the official opening: at 4:30 pm, our homage guest Bettina Brokemper and director Christoph Hochhäusler will present Heimatfilm's first production, ›I am Guilty‹ - and exclusively on 35mm.
Young viewers and those young at heart will get their money's worth with the Kinderfilmfest. It starts with ›Any Day Now‹ at 9:30 am at Stadthaus N1 together with our wonderful curator Lisa Niederauer, who has accompanied the section with her heart and soul and numerous side projects. At the Karlstorkino at 10:00 there is the animated western ›Calamity‹ with German narration. Take a look!
