IFFMH presents: ›Shirins Wedding‹
Film screening as part of the International Weeks Against Racism 2025
The motto of this year's International Weeks against Racism is "Protecting human dignity". From 17 to 30 March, there will once again be an interdisciplinary programme in many cities - including Heidelberg. The Intercultural Centre Heidelberg is organising various events here. We are also taking part again and will be showing the film ›Shirin's Wedding‹ (1976) by director Helma Sanders-Brahms as part of our IFFMH format on 28 March at the Karlstorkino - a moving story about labour migration in the Federal Republic of Germany and the hope of a new life in a foreign country, told from the perspective of a female Turkish protagonist in a ground-breaking way at the time.
