IFFMH Live: Feministisches Kino heute und morgen
Am 19. November um 19 Uhr auf Zoom und Facebook Live
Director's Talk #2: Dea Kulumbegashvili, Diana Montenegro García and Sol Berruezo Pichon-Rivière speak with Head of Programme Frédéric Jaeger about their films and their perspectives on feminism in cinema.
Three female directors, three outstanding, very unique works. Both Diana Montenegro García's Longing Souls and Sol Berruezo Pichon-Rivière's Mum, Mum, Mum are set in female communities and both are snapshot of life inside them. The subjective experience of a separated community is also an anchor point for Dea Kulumbegashvili in Beginning, the protagonist struggles with her life and faith as a Jehovah's Witness. But the patriarchal power structure and the resulting violence is drastically inscribed in the story.
In a collective discussion, the focus is on the question of what feminist filmmaking means to them - behind and in front of the camera. Which traditions do they follow, which ones do they distance themselves from and where might the path they have chosen lead?
