A special kind of roundelay: highly enjoyable and ultimately deeply moving.

They talk. And talk. And talk. For Daphné and Maxime, intimacy seems to be an exchange of words. Only slowly do they – and we – realise that their words have consequences not only for the two of them, but for their whole environment. In the roundelay of love and jealousy, the gap between fidelity and deceit becomes an abyss.

Emmanuel Mouret is one of France’s most renowned contemporary auteurs. With Les choses qu'on dit, les choses qu'on fait, the multiple award-winning director has once again surpassed himself. Delicately conceived word fights, literary tirades, poetic confessions. All that he throws at us is really something else. And only very slowly, almost imperceptibly, does the camera direct our gaze, allowing the audiovisual experience to reveal its full sensuality. It has to be seen to be believed!
