A film about saying goodbye and not wanting to let go, about community and the fine art of escaping from the world. A warm-hearted film brimming with empathy.

A day that should never end: two amateur teams meet for the last-ever match on their beloved baseball pitch. They laugh, drink, discuss everyday topics, and sometimes even existential matters. And the closer the end of the game approaches, the more creative the men get to prolong it. Soon enough, who’s winning is no longer important.

›Eephus‹ transfers team spirit to the screen: no one is in the center, the ensemble is the star. Featuring characters that seem taken straight out of real life. Some magically disappear, others appear. A movie to fall in love with, even and especially if you know nothing about baseball.

Director

Carson Lund has extensive experience as a cinematographer and producer in US indie cinema, including on the films ›Ham on Rye‹ and ›Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point‹. He also works as a musician and film critic. With ›Eephus‹, the Los Angeles-based filmmaker makes his directorial debut. He still plays baseball regularly.
