Diary of a Fleeting Affair

Charlotte (Sandrine Kiberlain) is worldly-wise. Without a second thought, she takes Simon (Vincent Macaigne), a married family man, home with her on their first date. He’s stunned at apparently having finally found the noncommittal affair he’d long been dreaming of. But as the two see more and more of each other and have ever more intimate conversations, the concept of “sex without passion” threatens to reach its limits.

Celebrated director Emmanuel Mouret from Marseille succeeds inimitably in portraying the city of love as just that, by mixing wordplay and situation comedy to create light-hearted romantic poetry that’s as agile as it is incomparably performed by the enchanting on-screen couple Sandrine Kiberlain and Vincent Macaigne.
