Three loves, a shattered country, and the quiet dream of its revival. A critical and bewitchingly atmospheric social panorama of Iran.

Tehran. A family, three loves: one is crumbling, another has long fallen apart, and the last is perhaps forming before our very eyes.

Sima, unhappy in her marriage to Behzad, is looking for an apartment for herself and her teenage daughter Minoo. Behzad wants to get closer to his ex-girlfriend and arranges to run into her ‘by chance’. Minoo spontaneously starts flirting with Keyvan while waiting to cross the road. We then follow the pair as they walk through the metropolis together. What emerges is a psychological mosaic of the big city, a social panorama in miniature – and the quiet dream of a different Iran. Bewitching atmospheric images, delicate allusions, and candid social criticism combine in a portrait of a country that nobody wants to stay in. Courageous and evocative.
