Nicolas Wackerbarth
Nicolas Wackerbarth is a director, writer and actor. After studying acting at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich, he studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. His three feature-length films “Lower Upper Cut”, “Everyday Objects” and “Casting” have made him one of the most exciting voices in recent German cinema. His films consistently draw on finely calibrated dialogue as well as improvisation. In addition to being a writer and director, he is a university lecturer and as an actor, appearing recently in bit parts in films by Maren Ade and Angela Schanelec and playing a theatre director in “Golden Twenties” by Sophie Kluge. He is also one of the editors of the film magazine “Revolver”.
